Are you looking for some fun mall scavenger hunt ideas? If so, we have just the thing for you – 20 funny photo and video tasks.
We’ve also explained below how to plan the scavenger hunt and produced a free printable list of the task ideas so that it’s easy for you to organize.
Here’s how to play it:
Resources
- List of tasks (see below)
- Pens
- Cameras (or cell phones if they can take photos and record video footage)
Preparation
No preparation is needed.
Teams
This mall scavenger hunt will be most fun when played in teams of 4 – 6 people, especially as some of the tasks require several players.
It’s therefore perfect for using as a kids birthday party activity and with youth groups, although there’s no reason why a group of adults couldn’t use these ideas!
Instructions
Provide each team with a list of the tasks and a pen, plus ensure that each team has a camera that’s capable of taking video footage (most cellphones should be able to do this).
Explain that their challenge is to complete all 20 tasks that are on the list. There are 10 photo tasks and 10 video tasks – some only require one player in order to be completed, while some of the other ideas will need the whole team to participate.
Due to the nature of some of the tasks, if you’re planning this for kids or a youth group, make sure you set out some rules for them as to how they should behave – check out our list of 10 rules here.
Arrange a time and a place to meet at the end, then send them off in the mall to complete all the tasks.
Points
There are two ways for teams to score points with this mall scavenger hunt – base points and bonus points:
- Base points – Teams earn 10 points for each of the ideas that they manage to complete
- Bonus points – Award 10 bonus points to the team that takes the best photo or video for each task
This means that each team can score a maximum of 200 base points, while there are also 200 bonus points up for grabs.
Task Ideas
Here’s the list of 20 different tasks that teams have to complete, split between those that have to be photographed and those that have to be videoed.
